The Jump

Rough and jagged the bridge
Hovers over the water
The waves sound like an echoing crowd
It calls my name like a choir of angels
Sweaty palms, erased sense
My heels slide of the edge
A leap of faith
Wind running through my hair,
The speed brings tears to my eyes
Grace in moments of madness
Independence and courage
Air beneath my feet if only for a moment
Walking on clouds in a paniced state
A giant lagoon of fear and youth hit my skin hard
its instant euphoria, achievement even
Coldness bringing satisfaction
The fight to the top is an eternity
a trophy awaits you at the brim of the current
A life lived.
